This course is designed to study the history of rock music, its societal role, and its diverse development and impact.

Course Focus

To become familiar with the musical styles that preceded and influenced rock music. To discuss and discover how rock music has influenced our society. And to recognize musical styles, composers, practices and techniques from the history of rock music. Finally, to exercise critical thinking skills as part of the general education requirement by developing and experiencing your own musicality, musical preference and opinions.
