Winter 2011 Class Schedule
January 4^th- March 30th

Opus prides itself with top-quality, professional instruction for all ages. Our teachers tailor lessons to your needs and aspirations. All students learn ear training, music theory, music notation, and music history. Every student will have the opportunity to collaborate with other students/teachers and form groups that will perform at our concerts.

Group Guitar

Ages 6-8: Designed to introduce beginning concepts such as rhythm, chords and reading music in order to pass level 1A.
Tuesdays, January 10^th – March 27^th, 4:00 – 4:30
Tuition: $180 12 half-hour sessions

Ages 9-12: Targeted for basic skills and techniques. Song selections will be tailored for each participant. Skills learned in this class can complete Opus level 1.
Class 1: Tuesdays, January 10^th – March 27^th, 3:30 – 4:30
Tuition: $240 12 one-hour sessions

Class 2: Wednesdays, January 4^th – March 28^th 3:00-4:00
Tuition: $260 13 one-hour sessions

Group Piano

Ages 6-8: Designed to introduce your child to rhythm, chords, reading music notation as an introduction to Opus level 1A piano skills.
Mondays January 9^th-March 26^th, 4:00-4:30
Tuition: $150 10 half-hour sessions, no class Jan. 16 and Feb. 20

Ages 9-12: Beginning/early advancing students will learn ear training, chord charts, composition, and strengthen music reading. Skills learned in this class can complete Opus level 1.
Mondays January 9^th-March 26^th, 3:00-4:00
Tuition: $200 10 half-hour sessions, no class Jan. 16 and Feb. 20

Music Production/Engineering
Ages 12 and up
Students will learn basic sound physics, music theory, work with microphones, mixing boards, recording equipment and computers. Students will also learn how to set a sound stage and run a sound mixing board for live and studio applications.  They will then put preparation into practice by running the soundboard for a live Opus performance and/or a recording session of Opus students as a final project.
Tuesdays February 21^st – March 27^th, 7:00-8:00
Tuition: $120 6 one-hour sessions

Group Ukulele/Banjo
Limit of 4 students

Ages 12 and up
Designed to introduce beginning concepts such as chords and reading music. Song selections are tailored with group requests.  Ukuleles/Banjos available for rent at Opus.

Wednesdays February 22^nd, 6:00-7:00

Tuition: $120 6 one-hour sessions
